DESCRIPTION: You are bidding on a unique and vintage equestrian themed cropped calendar top, "The Golden West", signed Robert Amick. Awesome Western cowgirl image set in the Colorado Rockies. Circa 1930's, measures 12 1/2 x 14 1/4 inches, bug hole in horse's mane, tear at left edge in border, heavy crease lower left is mostly in the border, more obvious on the reverse (acid free tape), barely noticed on the front, very fine condition with gorgeous colors! Left over stock from a calendar art company, never circulated, carefully stored. Robert Amick (1879 - 1969) was born in Canon City, Colorado amidst cowboys, prospectors and Indians. He studied law at Yale and practiced law for two years before becoming an artist. He worked as a printmaker, illustrator and painter. His paintings of landscapes, horses and western life (his childhood) became so popular that several were printed for the public school system.
